Tembo Steel Boss Found Dead In Bathroom

A supervisor at Tembo Steel Factory in Iganga District, eastern Uganda, has been found dead in a bathroom under unclear circumstances.

Kumal Bakal, 50, showed no signs of illness before his death, according to a source at the factory. He reportedly appeared energetic and healthy upon arrival at work, making his sudden death unexpected.

The Busoga East Police spokesperson, Michael Kafayo, confirmed that Kumal’s body was discovered by his subordinates. Colleagues noted that he had gone to the bathroom after his shift but never returned, prompting a search that led to the discovery of his body.

Authorities transported the body to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala for further examination. As of the latest reports, police had not yet received the postmortem results.

In a separate incident, police are investigating a case in which a woman allegedly strangled her five-month-old baby. The suspect, identified as Sarah Namusobya, a resident of Namungalwe Trading Centre in Namungalwe Town Council, is said to have strangled the infant before attempting to take her own life by poisoning herself.

Residents and police responded quickly, rushing Namusobya to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment under police custody. Authorities have stated that she will be transferred to police cells for interrogation once she recovers.
