On Friday morning, students at Seeta High School discovered the lifeless body of their classmate, Elishamah Ssesanga, hanging in the dormitory.
Elishamah was the son of Kampala businessman Ssesaazi Robert, who owns Trinity Love School in Nyanama-Kampala. Despite his family’s wealth, Elishamah faced personal difficulties.
It is reported that he had previously asked his father for Shs 2 million, but his request was denied due to concerns about the need for the money.
This incident points out the emotional struggles many young people face. Schools and families need to provide environments where young people can discuss their challenges openly and without fear. Support for mental health in schools is essential to help students feel understood and cared for.
Following Elishamah’s death, his funeral was held in Kyotera.
