Police in Mityana district are investigating the actual cause of the accident that claimed the life of a police officer attached to FFU detach.
The deceased has been identified as IP Namanya Nelson 48Years old, a Police officer in charge Kasita FFU detach, resident of Kasita Barracks in Kasanda district.
It’s alleged that Motor Vehicle Reg No. UBJ 394S /UAD 535Q Renault White/Blue in colour that was being driven from Mityana – Mubende Road on reaching Buswabulongo developed mechanical problems and it’s driver parked it on the left-hand side of the same road without placing any warning signs behind it.
On the night of 06/03/2025, there came Motorcycle Reg No. UP 8016 Yamaha that a police officer rode from Mityana – Mubende road on him reaching at Buswabulongo failed to see the said broken down truck and rammed into it knocking himself on the rear end of the said truck which injured him seriously and he died on arrival to Mityana regional referral hospital.
The body of the deceased has been rushed to Mityana Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem
