Agaba, a staunch supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), was receiving treatment at the hospital after the horrific act that left him with severe burns.

The incident, which took place in front of Parliament, drew widespread attention and raised questions about his motivations and state of mind. Witnesses reported that Agaba doused himself with a flammable substance before igniting the fire, leaving onlookers in shock.
