“We Told Bobi Wine to Lead us to Remove M7, he Instead Resorted to Shooting Documentaries” Mpuuga

Former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga has publicly criticized National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, accusing him of abandoning the fight to remove President Yoweri Museveni.

“We told Bobi Wine to lead us to remove Museveni, he instead resorted to shooting documentaries,” Mpuuga remarked, expressing disappointment over what he sees as a shift in strategy.

Bobi Wine has recently focused on producing documentaries highlighting human rights abuses and election irregularities in Uganda.

His supporters argue this approach keeps global attention on Uganda’s struggles, but Mpuuga insists the opposition’s priority should be mobilizing for political change on the ground.

The rift between the two prominent NUP figures signals growing tensions within the party.

Mpuuga, who has faced criticism himself for accepting a parliamentary commissioner role viewed by some as a betrayal of opposition values appears to be positioning himself as a voice for a more aggressive approach against Museveni’s long-standing rule.

Bobi Wine has yet to respond to Mpuuga’s remarks. However, his supporters maintain that documenting the regime’s abuses is a powerful tool to expose injustice and rally international support for Uganda’s liberation.
