Sheema Businesswoman Killed in Cold Blood

Police in Sheema District are investigating the brutal murder of Anitah Nsimenta, a 25-year-old businesswoman found dead in her home in Rushoroza Cell, Nyanga Ward, Kabwohe Division, Sheema Municipality on March 17, 2025, at around 10:00pm.

The Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Mr. Marcial Tumusiime, confirmed that officers have begun probing the murder and aggravated robbery case. Nsimenta ran a general merchandise business and worked as a mobile money agent in Sheema Municipality.

Her husband, Mr. Cenan Atwiine, from Nyihanga town in Rwampara District, grew concerned when he couldn’t reach her by phone, which later went offline. He visited her home and noticed her mattress and bag were missing, leading him to alert the police. While he was at the station, neighbors found Nsimenta’s body in the corridor leading to the bathroom and informed the landlady, who then contacted Atwiine.

Police have identified a boda-boda rider named Jonathan as a key suspect, based on information from local residents. A resident, Peter Mujuni, suggested the attackers were Nsimenta’s immediate neighbors, though their full identities remain unknown, and they appear to have fled after the crime.

According to police findings, Nsimenta’s body showed signs of violence, with a sisal rope around her neck, blood coming from her nose and mouth, and facial injuries. Her body was taken to Kabwohe Health Center IV for a postmortem as the investigation progresses.
