Five Arrested Over Murder of Seeta High School Teacher

Police in Mukono have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of Oloya Ivan, a 30-year-old teacher at Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus.

The incident occurred on March 22, 2025, in Bajjo Cell, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango identified the suspects as Kasumba Paul, 21, Mabale Simon, 23, Lukodda Simon, 18, Kandoole Charles Dani, 16, all casual labourers and Kibuuka Tom, 38, a mechanic.

According to preliminary reports, Oloya Ivan was attacked and killed near the gate of Code High School while heading home from Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus. His wife, Abbey Mercy, is a teacher at Code High School.

A police canine unit was deployed at the scene, which led to the arrest of the suspects. Oloya’s body was taken to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination, and investigations are ongoing.
