22-year-old Lady that worked as a bricklayer to pay her school fees finally becomes successful, bags degree from university

Exceptional 22-year-old lady, Sharon Mbabazi, who worked as a brickmaker and bricklayer to fund her education, has successfully graduated from Muteesa I Royal University in Masaka, Uganda, showcasing her determination and hard work.

Sharon Mbabazi faced several challenges after losing her mother at the age of 5. She fought through her challenges and started making bricks to earn a living.

“My village mates mocked me for being home because of school fees default, they used to call us poor because of our nearly falling house made out of soil,” she narrated.

“These made me work even harder just to show them that I can change my life and that of my family too. And indeed it happened. People could take my bricks and fail to pay me. But I looked at my background and swore never to give up,” she added.

Sharon Mbabazi graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.

Sharing her story on social media, a classmate of hers named Aaron Mbwali described Sharon as hardworking and always wanting to try new things.

“Mbabazi was so hardworking, she has graduated to because of her desire for education. She has been a Challenger to us and always wanted to try out new things. She didn’t mind about those who bullied her over brick laying,” he said.

Sharon Mbabazi finally decided to start her own business by establishing a furniture store. She now employs people and advises the upcoming generation to work hard and never give up on their dreams.
