While details of the operation remain classified for security reasons, AFRICOM confirmed that it will continue to assess the impact of the airstrikes.
The operation is part of an ongoing effort by the U.S. and Somali governments to weaken ISIS-Somalia’s presence in the region.
The United States has been supporting Somali forces in their fight against extremist groups, including ISIS and al-Shabaab, through targeted airstrikes and intelligence-sharing.
Officials say such operations are crucial in countering threats posed by terrorist organizations in East Africa.
