NUP MP Survives Being Beaten as Furious Mourners Chase Her from Funeral Over Alleged Negligence

Bukomansimbi North MP Christine Nandagire Ndiwalana narrowly escaped a violent mob at a funeral after mourners accused her of neglecting a young accident victim and only appearing at his burial.

Chaos erupted in Mpaama village, Bukomansimbi District, where family and friends gathered to bury 21-year-old Kaweesi Godfrey, known as Mavin.

He was allegedly hit by an ambulance belonging to Ndiwalana General Hospital but reportedly received no immediate medical care.

According to Sula Matovu, the chairman of the Bukomansimbi boda boda riders, Kaweesi was rushed to the hospital but was denied treatment.

He claimed the hospital demanded repairs for the same ambulance before transferring him to Masaka Hospital.

Matovu further alleged that multiple calls—12 in total—were made to MP Ndiwalana, but she did not respond.

A WhatsApp message allegedly sent by the MP, stating, “I do not waste my money on foolish things,” further enraged the mourners, who claimed to have a recording of the message.

By the time well-wishers raised funds to transfer Kaweesi to Mulago National Referral Hospital, it was too late—his brain had suffered irreversible damage due to excessive bleeding.

When MP Ndiwalana arrived at the funeral, mourners exploded with rage, blocking her from approaching the casket.

The situation spiraled out of control as some attempted to attack her, forcing security personnel to intervene. Stones were thrown, insults hurled, and the MP was seen fleeing, lifting her gomesi as she ran.

After a failed attempt to escape on a motorcycle, she was hidden in a house by a local man until authorities restored order.

The ambulance involved remains impounded, as police vow to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kaweesi’s death.
