A 40-year-old woman has been arrested by police in Nebbi on suspicion of killing her partner. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, is accused of murdering 38-year-old Francis Biloyotho after spending the night together at her home in Akesi cell, Abindu Division, Nebbi Municipality.
Neighbors reported that Biloyotho had stayed at the suspect’s home overnight, but his body was discovered the next morning in a pool of blood, approximately ten meters from the house. The gruesome discovery was made by children on their way to school, who immediately alerted the community. Residents who rushed to the scene recognized the deceased and quickly informed the local council chairman, who then contacted the police.
According to the area LC1 chairman, James Ocaka, there were significant bloodstains inside the suspect’s house, particularly in her room and on the floor, along with pieces of clothing soaked in blood. A search was conducted, leading to the suspect’s arrest. It was later established that the body had been dragged about ten meters toward a septic tank.
District Police Commander Filbert Waibi confirmed that the suspect is in custody and will undergo further questioning. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. He also emphasized the importance of preserving crime scenes to prevent the destruction of crucial evidence.
The body of the deceased has been taken for a postmortem examination and will be handed over to his relatives afterward.
