Hoima City Stadium is now officially complete, according to Sports Minister Peter Ogwang.
In a short message shared on social media, Ogwang said that the construction of the stadium was finished and that they were now waiting for President Yoweri Museveni to officially commission it. The announcement was accompanied by a video showing the newly built facility.

The modern stadium sits on 42 acres of land and cost about 130 million US dollars. It was built by the Turkish company Summa, which completed the project ahead of its 18-month deadline. Construction began in July 2024.
Hoima Stadium is one of Uganda’s major developments as the country prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations together with Kenya and Tanzania. The main arena can hold up to 20,000 spectators and includes several modern training and competition facilities such as an athletics track, a rugby pitch, a gym, and a swimming pool for athlete recovery.

The indoor arena has a seating capacity of 2,080 and can host games like volleyball, basketball, boxing, badminton, and table tennis.
The complex also includes a large cafeteria that can serve up to 300 people, making it the biggest in Hoima. There is also parking space for more than 1,000 vehicles.

To ensure comfort and convenience, the stadium has 10 concession units for general spectators, 12 VIP suites including a presidential suite, and private family lounges.
In addition, over 2,000 square metres have been reserved for commercial use, offering space for banks, shops, and corporate offices.
