Baby Gloria is already feeling the weight of married life just two months after tying the knot, openly admitting that the transition has taken away the freedom she once enjoyed.
The gospel singer, now married to Jonas Mbaleka, has been sharing honest reflections about her new reality. The romance is still there, but according to Gloria, the real surprise of marriage has been the daily responsibilities no one ever warned her about.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, she explained that life before marriage came with an easy exit strategy.
“Before marriage, I would just leave,” she said. “When you’re just a girlfriend, you always have that escape plan. You can walk away today and return tomorrow. But once that knot is tied, you’re not leaving simply because you’re annoyed. You’re in it for life.”
For her, that mental shift has been the biggest adjustment. She admitted that she loved the freedom of knowing she could walk away whenever things became overwhelming, but marriage has forced her to think differently. “Now I know this is forever. Marriage really forces you to make the right choices.”
Gloria also revealed how unprepared she was for the day-to-day responsibilities of managing a home. Instead of rehearsals and stage performances, she now finds herself dealing with dishes, constant cleaning, and a floor that demands attention far more often than expected.
“I couldn’t believe I had to mop the house every day,” she joked. “And I realised I can’t keep doing my nails all the time. They’re too expensive to spoil while wringing a rug.”
Her TikTok algorithm has even changed, filling up with tutorials and adverts for high-tech, “marriage-saving” mops.
“You just have to be a smart wife,” she said. “Because the dishes, the cooking, everything waits for you.”
