Sudhir Ruparelia-Developed RR Pearl One Tower Chosen for TotalEnergies Office Merger

TotalEnergies Uganda has taken a major step toward streamlining its operations by bringing its core business units into a single, purpose-built office space in Kampala, a move expected to enhance coordination, efficiency and innovation.

The company has relocated TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda Limited, TotalEnergies EP Uganda and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) to a shared headquarters known as “T-Hive,” housed at the RR Pearl One Building on Yusuf Lule Road. The move, announced on December 1, places the teams in the 25-storey Grade A tower developed by businessman Dr Sudhir Ruparelia and situated within the Pearl Business Park, opposite the National Land Information Centre.

TotalEnergies Uganda says the new hub reflects its “One TotalEnergies, One Country” approach, aimed at fostering closer collaboration across its downstream, upstream and pipeline operations while also creating a supportive and engaging work environment. The name T-Hive was generated by employees, symbolising teamwork, creativity and a sense of shared ownership.

In announcing the relocation, the company described the new offices as a dynamic workspace designed to bring people together and support faster decision-making and innovation. The consolidation replaces previously scattered offices across the city, enabling smoother coordination among teams.

The T-Hive facility offers modern amenities, including more than 400 parking spaces across several basement levels, electric vehicle charging stations and a Bonjour convenience shop on the ground floor to serve staff and visitors.

Accessibility and sustainability were key considerations in the design, with features such as wheelchair-friendly washrooms, waste sorting systems and a dedicated mothers’ room. Security within the building is managed through chipped access cards and carefully positioned surveillance systems in shared areas.

Staff welfare is further supported through a shared medical clinic on the ground floor, flexible workstations, private meeting pods for sensitive discussions and informal coffee lounges that encourage interaction and collaboration.

The internal layout has been organised to support operational efficiency. TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda occupies the first floor, while the second floor hosts TotalEnergies EP Uganda’s reception and key departments, including human resources, contracts, procurement, logistics and field operations. The third floor houses finance, information technology and project management teams, alongside a cafeteria and kitchen offering sweeping views of Kampala.

Upper floors are dedicated to specialised units such as drilling, health, safety and environment, social performance, business development, corporate affairs, legal, geoscience and EACOP operations. The cafeteria also includes a modern coffee bar and mini lounge to facilitate informal meetings and engagements.

Analysts say the move represents an important milestone in TotalEnergies Uganda’s long-term integration strategy and reflects growing confidence in Kampala’s premium commercial real estate sector. Developments like RR Pearl One are increasingly being seen as preferred locations for multinational firms seeking modern, efficient and sustainable office spaces.

As Uganda advances its ambitions in the energy sector, including the implementation of the EACOP project, the consolidation highlights TotalEnergies Uganda’s focus on operational excellence, sustainability and a people-centred workplace culture.
