Police have issued a safety advisory to motorists following a third vehicle fire incident on the Entebbe Expressway.
The latest fire involved a Subaru with registration number UBB 837 C, which was found ablaze near Nambigirwa Bridge on Sunday night. According to police reports, Entebbe officers received a call about the incident around 7:58 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, who successfully extinguished the flames. The vehicle was unoccupied when it was found.
This marks the third vehicle fire on the Entebbe Expressway in recent weeks. With the cause of these fires still unknown, authorities are urging motorists to prioritize vehicle safety by performing routine mechanical checks before driving. Drivers are also encouraged to carry portable fire extinguishers to manage any potential fires before they escalate and cause extensive damage.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported in any of the three incidents.
