The search for Judith Kyarisiima, a senior midwife from Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, has ended tragically with her body being discovered in River Rwizi. Kyarisiima, who also served as the National General Secretary for the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union, had gone missing from her home in Katete Central Cell, Mbarara City, on the morning of September 2, 2024.

Her disappearance alarmed family, colleagues, and the local community, prompting a coordinated search by the Rwizi Region Police and residents. As days passed without any sign of her, concerns for her safety grew.

Today, her body was recovered from the river, leaving Mbarara in shock and mourning. Authorities are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
