Catholic Priest Dies in Ibanda-Mbarara Highway Accident

A tragic accident claimed the life of Rev. Fr. Wycliffe Byamugisha, the Curate Priest of Nyabuhikye Centre in Kagongo Parish, Ibanda District, on the afternoon of October 20, 2024. The accident occurred at Kabagoma cell in Igorora, along the Ibanda-Mbarara Highway.

Rev. Fr. Byamugisha, a youthful priest from Kashekuro Parish in Sheema District, was ordained in July 2018, marking nearly six years in priesthood.

As of now, neither the police nor the Mbarara Archdiocese has released an official statement regarding the incident. Further details will be provided as they emerge.
