Couple Dies in Soroti-Mbale Highway Road Accident

Two people on a motorcycle have been knocked dead by a speeding vehicle along Soroti-Mbale highway.

The fatal crash occurred in Opuyo ward in Soroti City East, Soroti City at 8:50am on Thursday, September 12.

It’s believed that a motor vehicle UBM 466C Toyota Hilux white in colour heading to Mbale from Soroti City driven by Stephen Mbogo, 37, rammed into Jorem Ouchokol’s

ASP Edison Obukulem, the Acting Public Relations Officer of East Kyoga region says that the motorcycle rider Ouchokol, 20, and his wife, Hellen Apio, 23 died on the spot whereas, Augustine Amuriat Olupot, 23 and his wife Melda Atekit were rushed to Soroti Regional Referral hospital for medication.

The case was reported to Soroti Central Police Station while the bodies were taken to the mortuary for postmortem.

Police say the vehicle and motorcycle were towed to Soroti Central Police Station as investigations continue.
