Court remands priest over murder charges - UG Standard

On Friday, Entebbe Magistrates court remanded Rev Fr Dominic Alinga a Catholic Priest from Napak District to Kigo prison untill 26th August 2023 over the charges of murdering John Bosco Ngorok (URA staff) and attempted murder of Abigaba Mugisha.

Alinga was read the charges by Mazimwe Lilian , a grade one Magistrate who didn’t allow him to say anything about the case because the charges are grave in nature and its only High Court with jurisdiction to hear such matters.

Prosecution led by Gladys Anzoya, Contends that John Bosco Ngorok, 34 years on August 3rd 2024 in Kitooro zone , Entebbe Wakiso district with malice aforesought unlawfully murderered John Bosco Ngorok.

It Is further alleged that on 3rd 2024 in Kitooro zone , Entebbe Wakiso district , unlawfully attempted to cause death of Mugisha a boda boda rider who was trying to take the deceased to hospital for emergency treatment.

Defense lawyers led by Edward Bamutumbira have revealed that Ngoroko’s family members have already forgiven the Rev. Fr and thus asked the Prosecution to expedite investigations in order to have their client committed to High Court for trial.

Fr. John Bosco was recently suspended from conducting priestly activities by Catholic Church pending investigations.

Ngorok was buried on Friday at his ancestral home.
