Diana Ampaire Kampe has emerged as the new face of the NRM youth, winning the party ticket for National Female Youth MP after a heated election held on September 18, 2025.
The vote brought together thousands of NRM youth delegates from all corners of the country. By the end of the day, it was clear that Kampe had outpaced all her rivals, leaving little doubt about her popularity among the young voters of the ruling party.
Her strongest showings came from districts like Amudat, where she took every single vote, and Kiruhura, where the delegates gave her a clean sweep. In places like Masindi and Rukungiri, her wide margins only confirmed how solid her support base had grown.
Her competitors, Golda Ikyiriza, Mercy Kanyesigye, Suzan Katusiime, Olivia Kobusinge, and Sandra Sarah Chebet, struggled to keep up as the results rolled in.
Observers say Kampe’s victory is more than just numbers. It signals a generational shift within the NRM, with youth delegates rallying behind her as a strong voice for young people in the party. Her win now positions her as a central figure in shaping how the youth will be represented in Uganda’s next parliament.
