Anderson Burora, the former Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Rubaga Division, has confirmed his intention to enter elective politics in 2026.
After recently stepping down from his role as commissioner, Burora made the announcement on his X account, confirming what had been widely anticipated. He revealed that after reflecting and consulting with his family and close associates, he decided to pursue a political career in 2026.
His resignation earlier this year sparked speculation, especially after he accused the ruling NRM party and some of its leaders of corruption. This led many to believe that he was positioning himself for a political run, which his latest announcement has now confirmed.
Political observers had long suspected Burora’s move, given his public criticisms of the current leadership and his departure from his government role.
However, it remains unclear which political position Burora will contest for and which party he will represent.
