Former Vice President Dr. Wandira Kazibwe Rushed To Hospital After Car Accident

Former Vice President Specioza Wandira Kazibwe is recovering after being injured in a road accident on December 1.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. along the Kayunga-Njeru road in Wakisi village, Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District.

It involved a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (registration number UG 2372M) driven by Kayongo Fred, a resident of Mukono. Preliminary findings indicate a front tyre burst caused the driver to lose control, leading the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into an electric pole.

Dr. Kazibwe and her grandson, Igapira Louis Wandira, who were passengers, sustained injuries and were taken to Jinja Hospital for treatment. Their condition is being closely monitored by medical staff.

The vehicle remains at the scene awaiting towing as police investigate the incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
