Police in Luwero District have arrested four individuals in relation to the murder of Margaret Nakiyingi, a resident of Wobulenzi Town Council.

Nakiyingi, who was found brutally killed, had reportedly been involved in a long-standing land dispute with her sister, which is believed to have escalated into the fatal attack.

The primary suspect, Hajjat Sarah Nakatude Nampa, a 60-year-old farmer from Kigulu Zone, Wobulenzi East Ward, is the sister of the deceased. Nampa had been engaged in ongoing land wrangles with Nakiyingi prior to the murder.

Also arrested is Nampa’s 36-year-old son, Herbert Mwebaza, a farmer who recently returned from Iraq, suspected of involvement in the crime.

Two additional suspects, Nicholas Mulindwa, 23, and Lubega Mmwesigwa Apollo, 42, both builders, were also taken into custody. Mulindwa resides in the same area as Nampa and Mwebaza, while Lubega is from Kasangombe Sub County in Nakaseke District.

The suspects are currently detained at Luwero Central Police Station as investigations continue. Authorities are conducting further inquiries into the case.
