Outspoken social commentator Frank Gashumba has said that he has no intentions of getting married, expressing a reluctance to sacrifice his personal freedom for a partner’s happiness.
In an interview on a local radio station, Gashumba shared his perspective on marriage, explaining his discomfort with what he described as “mandatory bedroom obligations” that come with commitment.
“I cannot get married. What would a woman bring into my life that would make me give up my freedom? When you marry, you’re expected to be awake all night addressing those bedroom needs, and I simply don’t have that energy,” Gashumba explained.
He recounted an experience from his past relationship with a partner who had a high sex drive, which left him feeling exhausted and overburdened.
“I once dated a beautiful woman who had an insatiable appetite. Whenever we went to bed, it was constant. At 3 a.m., again at 5 a.m.—I’d go to work completely drained. At one point, I felt like I wouldn’t survive it,” he shared. Gashumba said he’s preserving his energy for business.
