The Guinean government has prohibited its ministers from leaving the national territory before the end of this year, a senior official has said.
The ministers were not allowed to leave the country except with exceptional permission from the head of state, the government’s secretary general, Tamba Benoit Kamano, said in an official statement on Thursday.
The ban is effective until Dec. 31 this year.
“It is requested that all ministers currently on missions abroad return to the national territory, with all activities ceasing upon instruction from President Mamadi Doumbouya,” the statement added.
The statement does not mention the reason for this decision from the presidency.
