The Inspectorate of Government has ordered the dismissal of 25 Parish Chiefs in Kyenjojo District after investigations revealed they had uttered forged diploma certificates to gain employment.
The Deputy Inspector General of Government, Ms. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, signed the order directing the Chief Administrative Officer of Kyenjojo District to cause the District Service Commission to dismiss the affected officers and delete them from the payroll.
The 25 Parish Chiefs, recruited between September and October 2021, were found to have presented forged diploma certificates from various institutions, including Uganda Pentecostal University, Kyambogo University, and Makerere University. However, these institutions disowned the certificates, stating they had no records of the individuals.
The officers have also been handed over to the Kyenjojo District Police Commander for further investigations and prosecution.
This move is aimed at ensuring integrity and transparency in public service, and it serves as a warning to those who may attempt to deceive their way into public office.
The affected officers include Thomas Kato Kyaligonza, Florence Nyakahuma, Saul Baganyire, Peter Nuwahereza, Constance Orikiriza, Mark Kato, Acleo Bagenda Kiiza, Amos Baguma, Richard Mwangushya, Wilfred Amanyire, Charles Kusemererwa, James Tusime, and Alice Komuhimbo.
Others are Yosinta Kemigisa, Aloysious Twijuke, Timothy Mpuga Ruguruka, Yudita Twesige, Daniel Mugabe, Lucy Murangi, Peter Ivan Mwebaze K, Mary Gorret Aliganyira, Violet Kwikiriza, Zaam Kahwa, Mastura Karungi, and John Isingoma.
These individuals presented forged diploma certificates from reputable institutions, which have since disavowed the certificates, confirming that the individuals have no records with them..
