In his televised message, during the 31st Coronation Anniversary, Kabaka revealed that the period he has been out of the country, he has witnessed a lot especially those pretending to love Buganda destroying the Kingdom’s image.

“This period has given some people an opportunity to undermine our culture. I call upon all people to continue working together at the same time respect our culture and traditions.” remarked Kabaka

Therefore, he has advised all his subjects not to be overtaken by actions of self seekers but should always remain focus in preserving the cultural values.

“We applaud people from various parts of the world especially the youth for loving their kingdom. Its important that we maintain that love with good morals as it has been known for all along.”

As far as the Kingdom’s hierarchy is concerned, the Kabaka emphasized he heads/leads the Kingdom being assisted by the Katikiro of his choice.

The other role, he reminded the subjects that he has powers to change some cultural norms and practices depending on the current situation among other factors.

The Kingdom has organized a special mass for the 31st Coronation Anniversary at Namirembe Cathedral being led by Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese.

It has been attended by the Queen of Buganda Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga, Royals , Buganda Kingdom Ministers and dignitaries as well as officials from the central government and members of the general public.
