Kagame Dismisses Top Military Officers from RDF

Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who also serves as the commander in chief, has discharged 21 senior and junior officers from the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), including Major General Martin Nzaramba and Colonel Dr. Etienne Uwimana.

Additionally, Kagame has approved the termination of contracts for 195 other ranks within the RDF.

It is worth noting that in June 2023, Rwandan President Paul Kagame removed two senior commanders and 14 officers from their positions. Alongside these dismissals, he also authorized the removal of 116 other ranks and agreed to the termination of contracts for an additional 112 personnel.
