Mandatory display of candidate’s registers starts today 12th August –UNEB - UG Standard

The executive director of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Mr. Dan Odong

The executive director of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Mr. Dan Odong has urged all Heads of Uneb examination Canters to display the lists of candidates registered for the 2024 Examinations as provided for in the UNEB Act 2021 Section 4(2).

‘’The candidates registers should be displayed in a conspicuous place at the school notice board to enable parents to confirm the registration status of the leaners’’. Mr. Odong said in a statement.

According to UNEB, this year’s mandatory period of display will run from today 12th August up to 11th October, 2024.

Mr. Dan Odong, also advised Parents of students studying in schools that do not have UNEB centres to find out where these students have been registered and confirm that the learners have been duly registered.

He said this is important to avoid unfortunate scenarios where students are discovered unregistered at the start of examination period.

”In the event that a student, who has proof of payment of registration fees is not dully registered, the parent should immediately report to UNEB for remedial action”.  He added.

Relatedly, Uneb has provided an SMS option on Mobile telephone handsets during the period of display. One will be required to know the full index of the candidate.  go to SMS option, Type Reg. leave space, put index No. and send to 6600
