Police in Luwero District are investigating the murder of a 40-year-old woman whose body was discovered in an unfinished house in Bukuma Village, Luwero Town Council. The victim, Robinah Nyangoma, was found early Sunday morning after leaving home the previous night under unclear circumstances.
Nyangoma’s twin sister, Aidah Nyakato, reported that friends had invited her sister out for an outing the evening before, but Nyangoma requested more time, promising to meet them later. Nyakato went to bed around 10 p.m., believing her sister was still at home, but was shocked to receive a call the next morning asking her to identify a murdered woman, only to discover it was her sister lying lifeless.
Mustafah Ntambi, the Bukuma LCI vice chairperson, learned of the incident around 7 a.m. and condemned the brutal killing. He urged residents to exercise caution when moving at night, especially amid allegations that Nyangoma was attacked while returning from a night outing.
Margaret Nansubuga, the area councillor representing Kagugo Parish in Luwero Town Council, called for police to expedite their investigations. She mentioned reports suggesting Nyangoma may have been with someone at a local venue and stressed the importance of identifying and questioning those involved.
Savanna Regional Police spokesperson Sam Twineamazima confirmed that investigations have begun to determine the circumstances surrounding Nyangoma’s death. Her body has been taken to Luwero Hospital for an autopsy before being returned to her family for burial in Migyera, Nakasongola.
