MP Kagabo Officially Switches to NRM Ahead of 2026 Elections

Bukoto South legislator Twaha Kagabo has expressed support for General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s decision to withdraw from the 2026 general elections and revealed his own intentions to contest under the NRM ticket.

Speaking at Parliament, Dr. Kagabo confirmed that he has officially switched political allegiance. He emphasized that his shift to the NRM is complete and encouraged his supporters to back him as he prepares to contest in the upcoming elections under the ruling party’s banner.

Kagabo, who was previously associated with the opposition, made the decision to join the NRM after receiving guidance from Gen. Muhoozi, Chairperson of the People’s Liberation Union (PLU). He urged his supporters to embrace this change as he prepares for the 2026 elections under his new party affiliation.

Preparations are currently underway for Kagabo’s formal introduction into the NRM ahead of the party primaries scheduled for early next year.
