NRM Chairman Collapses, Dies in Court During Land Dispute Hearing

Residents in Kayunga Town were left in shock when the chairman of the ruling NRM party for Busaana sub-county, Alex Kenyi, 56, collapsed and died unexpectedly during a court session. The incident occurred on Thursday as Kenyi was testifying in a land dispute case, accusing another resident of unlawful possession of a plot in Namagabi village.

Court proceedings, led by Magistrate Emmanuel Perimba, were immediately suspended as witnesses and court attendees rushed Kenyi to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Local leaders revealed that Kenyi had been dealing with health issues prior to the court appearance, which he had attended on his motorcycle. Known as a humble and committed supporter of the NRM, Kenyi was actively involved in party matters, often stepping up to show his support.
