Media personality Omulangira Ndausi has shared his opinion that singer Rema Namakula would be more successful today if she had not left Bebe Cool’s Gagamel Crew.
While appearing on Kasuku Live with Jenkins Mukasa, Ndausi said Rema had everything needed to become an international star — talent, a strong voice, and stage presence. But according to him, leaving Gagamel slowed her growth.
“Rema had a chance to go far, maybe even beyond Uganda,” Ndausi said. “If she had stayed, she would probably be part of Bebe Cool’s new album Break The Chains.”
He compared Rema’s current career to new artist Joshua Baraka, who is now gaining international attention. Ndausi believes Rema had that same potential — or even more — but lost it by moving away from the group that helped her start out.
Ndausi also spoke about Rema’s personal life. He said he had hoped she would settle with someone outside the music industry.
“I wanted her to get a mature man with money, maybe a Hajji — not the way things turned out,” he added.
His comments have caused a stir online, with fans sharing mixed feelings. Some agree Rema made a mistake leaving Gagamel, while others believe she’s done well on her own.
