Bobi Wine has commended a section of Ugandan musicians and entertainers who have stayed the course and resisted the temptation to join the ruling NRM government.
Bobi Wine extended appreciation to the artists, urging them to press on and continue educating the masses until the ruling government is deposed.
“I am an artist and what we have today is something we had never seen. God in the past brought us lawyers, doctors and engineers, but this time he brought artists. This is our time and we have to give the best example,” he said.
The opposition NUP president was on Thursday speaking at the party’s weekly press conference in Kavule.
There, he was joined by dozens of musicians and other entertainers.
Bobi Wine assured them that their victory was near. He promised to invite them one day for a music show at State House, once he is president.
“I am happy that when where they have persuaded you with money, you have stood for the truth. People like Kabako and the rest of you, thank you for keeping strong,” he said.
“One day we are going to do this freestyle in State House. Record this and keep it because one day we shall remind you,” he added.
Some of the artists who attended the press conference included among others, Zex Birangirangi, Mudra, Kabako, Nina Roz, Reign Omusoyoso, Micky Wine and Hozaambe.
At the event, Bobi Wine also welcomed dozens of NRM leaders and mobilisers from different parts of the country, who denounced their party to join the NUP.
