PHOTOS: Sudhir’s Paradise Island Resort Nears Completion as Luxury Lake Victoria Retreat Takes Shape

Sudhir Ruparelia’s new Paradise Island Resort on Lake Victoria is now approaching completion, with developers confirming that construction has reached 95 percent. The project is shaping up to be one of Uganda’s most impressive luxury retreats, offering visitors an island experience that has never been seen before in the country. Only a 20-minute speedboat ride from Speke Resort Munyonyo, the destination is expected to attract honeymooners, holidaymakers, and companies looking for peaceful and private retreat spaces.

Construction began on May 1, 2021, and the resort was designed to lift both domestic and international tourism by offering a mix of comfort, exclusivity, and nature. The development is being led by Ms. Sheena Ruparelia, daughter of Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia. Under her guidance, the island has been transformed into a modern, eco-conscious getaway filled with beautiful lake views, natural vegetation, and high-end accommodation.

The project first started with 22 units, but because of rising demand, another 16 were added during the second phase. Paradise Island Resort now features a wide range of housing options, including standard cottages, cliff hanger cottages overlooking the lake, deluxe two-bedroom units, and a set of executive villas designed for guests who prefer complete privacy. Every unit was created to highlight the calm scenery of Lake Victoria and the relaxed feeling of island life.

The resort sits on 19 acres of untouched land surrounded by rich natural beauty. A nearby rocky island covered with indigenous trees and large bird populations makes the location ideal for bird lovers, photographers, wellness travelers, and anyone seeking a quiet nature escape. The peaceful environment gives the resort a unique charm that fits both leisure and relaxation.

Paradise Island Resort joins a growing list of major hospitality developments by the Ruparelia Group, which also includes the expansion of Kabira Country Club, the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Kingdom Hotel, and Ssese Beach Resort. As the finishing touches are being completed, the new property is expected to open soon, adding a fresh and luxurious attraction to Uganda’s tourism market.

When launched, the resort will further strengthen the Ruparelia Group’s impact on the hospitality sector and position Uganda as a rising destination for world-class travel experiences.
