Sudhir Ruparelia, the billionaire businessman often called the “Kampala Landlord,” has revealed the first photos of the iconic Pearl Tower One, which has now been renamed RR Pearl Tower One. Workers were seen on Friday installing large “RR” initials on top of the 19-storey building in Kampala, marking a major step in the rebranding process.
The new name, announced last month by Dr. Ruparelia, is a tribute to his late son, Rajiv Ruparelia, whose ideas and passion played a big role in shaping the project. Rajiv’s vision was a key inspiration behind the construction of the tower as part of the larger Pearl Business Park development.
Photos taken from the site show engineers lifting and fixing the metallic “RR” letters to the rooftop, a clear sign that the renaming exercise, which has been ongoing behind the scenes for months, has now reached the public stage.
The fresh initials now stand proudly above the city skyline, representing Rajiv Ruparelia’s legacy and lasting impact on Uganda’s growing real estate industry.
Located on Yusuf Lule Road, the 19-storey RR Pearl Tower One is the first of ten planned towers under Meera Investments’ Pearl Business Park project. The development aims to provide high-end office spaces for top corporate tenants in Kampala and attract more business investment to the area.
According to sources close to the Ruparelia Group, the gradual rebranding process is being carried out carefully to ensure compliance with property registration and architectural standards. The official unveiling ceremony of RR Pearl Tower One is expected to take place later this year.
