Police Arrest Impostor Posing as State House Official in Kampala

Kampala police have arrested a man involved in impersonating State House personnel to defraud the public. The suspect, Yusuf Kakaire, allegedly presented himself as “Major Asiimwe” from the president’s office on special duties, using this false identity to deceive others.

Several charges have been filed against Kakaire, including impersonation, possession of suspected stolen property, forgery, and presenting false documents, as recorded at Jinja Road Police Station under case CRB 970/2024.

Kakaire is currently being prepared for court proceedings.

Previously, numerous individuals have been arrested for similar impersonation schemes, exploiting State House affiliations to mislead people. These fraudsters often promise access to President Museveni or assistance in winning or dismissing legal cases in exchange for money, vanishing once payments are made.
