Police investigate after discovery decomposing body of 27-year-old

Police in Luwero District have initiated a murder investigation after the decomposed body of 27-year-old Bashir Ssebagala was found in an unfinished house in Kizito Zone.

Ssebagala, a resident of Kizito Zone in Luwero Town Council, was discovered by locals around 10:30 a.m., four days after he is believed to have been killed.

Kassim Asiku, the village defense officer, received a report from locals about a foul odor emanating from the unfinished house. Upon inspection, he found Ssebagala’s body and immediately notified the police, who responded quickly.

The body was recovered and transported to Luwero Hospital for a medical examination.

Ali Abiriga, a resident of Kizito Zone, raised concerns about the growing insecurity in the area, noting that this incident is part of a broader trend.

Sam Twinnaemazima, the PRO of Savannah Region, confirmed the incident and stated that the motive behind Ssebagala’s murder is still unclear. The police are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death and to apprehend those responsible.

Twinnaemazima urged the public not to take matters into their own hands and assured that increased surveillance measures are being put in place. He mentioned that police cameras along the Bombo to Kafu route have been upgraded to aid in the arrest of those involved in the crime.

Residents of Kizito Zone are now calling for an increased police presence and night patrols to improve security in the area. The community remains in shock and is urgently seeking action from authorities to address these security concerns.
