Rocks from Landslide Crush Home, Killing Two in Kabale District

A landslide in Rwamacumu Village, Kasheregyenyi Parish, Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale District, has claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident took place around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as 18-year-old Charles Tayebwa, a resident and casual worker, and Bosco, a 17-year-old Rwandan national employed as a shamba boy. The two lost their lives when a landslide triggered rocks to collapse into the home of Agrey Rukundo, demolishing the structure and fatally injuring the pair as they slept.

This area has experienced previous landslides, marking this as one of multiple recent incidents.

Authorities documented the scene, recovered the bodies from the debris, conducted a postmortem, and returned the remains to their families for burial arrangements.
