A Vietnam Airlines flight from Moscow to Hanoi turned tense when a passenger suddenly fell seriously ill. Luckily, one of the people on board was Russia’s Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko.
The incident happened on September 11, 2025. About two hours after takeoff, a man suffered a dangerous rise in blood pressure, known as a hypertensive crisis. Flight attendants quickly called for medical help, and Murashko, who is also a trained doctor, rushed to assist.
Traveling with him were other doctors in his delegation, and together they gave the man first aid and kept him stable. The passenger was later moved to a more comfortable seat in premium economy, where he was closely watched for the rest of the trip.
By the time the plane landed in Hanoi, the man’s condition had improved and he was out of danger.
Murashko has been Russia’s Health Minister since 2020, but before that, he worked for many years as a doctor and health regulator. His quick action during the flight showed that, beyond being a government official, he is still a doctor ready to save lives whenever needed.
