According to AIP Benard Manzi, the officer in charge of traffic at Rubaare Police Station, the accident happened when Tibesigwa unexpectedly turned right and collided with the NEMA vehicle.
Both Tibesigwa, 37, and his passenger, Miracle Aryatwijuka, a 17-year-old Senior Four student at Ruyonzya Seed Secondary School, sustained fatal injuries. Tibesigwa passed away after being admitted to Karuhanga Doctor’s Referral Hospital in critical condition, while Aryatwijuka died on the way to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
