Students and teachers at Uganda Christian University (UCU) are mourning the death of Angella Namirembe, a young law student who died after a boda boda accident.
Reports say Angella was coming from UCU Kampala Campus, where she had gone for school work, when the accident happened. She was quickly taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital, but she passed away shortly after reaching there because of serious injuries.
Her friends and classmates describe her as a bright, kind, and hardworking student who loved studying law and helping others. Many people said she dreamed of becoming a good lawyer who would stand for justice and help those in need.
Teachers and students at UCU have shared their sadness, calling her death a big loss to the university and the legal community. Messages of sympathy and love have also been shared online by her friends, classmates, and other young lawyers.
Her death has again raised concern about the high number of boda boda accidents in Uganda and the need for stronger road safety rules.
Angella Namirembe will be remembered as a smart, caring, and determined young woman whose future was full of promise. May her soul rest in peace.
