A tragic incident has left the community in Masanda Cell, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, in shock after a family of four was discovered dead in their single-room home. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old boda boda rider Nyanzi Simon and his three children: Kabanda Pius (8), Priscilla (7), and Praise (2).
The discovery was made on November 15, 2024, when neighbors grew concerned after noticing that Nyanzi had not opened his door and his children were not left with their usual caretaker. Upon checking, they found the door closed but unlocked. Inside, they found the family lying lifeless on a bed, fully dressed.
Residents quickly alerted the area chairman, who reported the matter to the police. Law enforcement responded promptly, recorded statements from witnesses, and transported the bodies to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examinations.
Investigators reported that no suspicious substances were found at the scene. However, they recovered Nyanzi’s mobile phone, which had all its contacts deleted. It was also revealed that the children’s mother works abroad in the Middle East.
The police in Nsangi are continuing investigations to determine the cause of this heartbreaking incident.
