Teen Poisons Soup to Take Revenge on Ex-Boyfriend, Ends Up Killing 5

Five teenagers were found dead in Nigeria, allegedly due to poisoning by a 16-year-old girl seeking revenge against her ex-boyfriend after he ended their relationship. The incident, reported by Daily Post Nigeria, occurred in Afashio, Uzairue on October 26. The victims—four boys and a girl—were discovered after family members, concerned by their prolonged absence, searched the apartment. Among the deceased were two siblings and three friends: Emmanuel Elogie, 19; Ada Samuel, 16; brothers Samuel and Jeffrey Ayegwalo; and another youth named Nurudeen.

According to sources, the girl reportedly poisoned a pepper soup and served it to her ex-boyfriend, who unknowingly shared the meal with his friends. Nigerian military forces have since detained the girl, identified as Aisha Suleiman. The Edo State Command stated that an in-depth investigation is underway, with the Commissioner of Police urging a thorough examination to uncover the cause of death.

The incident came to light when Elogie Ezekiel, the father of one victim, visited the apartment. Inside, he found one friend lifeless in the corridor, while his son, the son’s girlfriend, and two other friends were discovered dead in other rooms. The victims were taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed they had all died. Following the tragic discovery, authorities apprehended the suspect and transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Viral social media videos captured moments of the family’s distress upon discovering the scene. Initial theories pointed to potential causes such as generator fumes or food contamination, but authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the deaths. The Edo State Police Command has assured the public that justice will be pursued.
