New signings can be a slight risk to include in your very first starting XI. However, many teams got a lot of their business done early this year and there is always a thrill in the unknown of unearthing a potential new fantasy football star. Here are our top five to look out for this season:
Â
Daichi Kamada (£3.0m) – Crystal Palace
The 28-year-old arrived this summer on a free, linking up once again with manager Oliver Glasner. The Japanese midfielder played 127 games, scoring 20 goals, under the same gaffer in Germany, and has been signed to replace the attacking returns that’ll be missed after Michael Olise’s departure..
Â
Yankuba Minteh (£2.9m) – Brighton
The forward isn’t technically new to the league having been signed from Newcastle, however didn’t make an appearance for the Magpies, but comes off of an impressive loan season with Dutch champions Feyenoord. The Gambian international has already netted three times in pre-season for his new club, priming him for a good debut Premier League season.
Â
Crysencio Summerville (£3.9m) – West Ham
West Ham have been busy this summer bringing quality into the London Stadium. The 22-year-old is £900k cheaper than fellow signee Fullkrug, and has Premier League experience having scored four goals in his previous top flight campaign.
Â
Chadi Riad (£2.6m) – Crystal Palace
The left sided centre back has been brought in from La Liga, perhaps paving the way for Palace to move to a back three. Having impressed on loan at Betis last season, and at a modest price tag, the 6ft 2in Moroccan could be the perfect budget enabler.Â
Â
Emile Smith-Rowe (£3.0m) – Fulham
Another not new to the Premiership, nor to the Telegraph Fantasy Football in this instance, it would be remiss not to highlight the value in the exciting attacking midfielder. The Cottagers new record signing will be nailed on to play when fit, boasts an impressive ratio of attacking returns per game, and when coupled with Fulham’s favourable opening run of fixtures, provides the recipe for point returns.
