Two brothers have been ordered to spend the rest of their natural lives in prison for murder of their biological mother and their sister over land wrangles.
The two John Ngabirano and Amanyire Keresi have been sentenced by three Court of Appeal Justices led by Deputy Chief Justice Richard Buteera, Christopher Gashirabake and Oscar John Kihika.
This is after they evaluated the evidence adduced by the prosecution and found that the two brothers committed the double murder.
It’s alleged that on November 29th, 2011 at Nyakagreme sub county, Rukungiri District the two appellants murdered their mother Bainengera Dinah and sister Musimenta Doreen and after they dug a pit and buried them.
Court observed that before the incident the appellants had got involved in a land wrangle with their mother now deceased, and attempted to kill her.
Court also considered their behavior after the death of their mother by running away from the village and hid in Rukungiri Town Council, where they were arrested from.
