Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) on Saturday had the Guiness freshly brewed beer truck enter Uganda from Kenya. It made its first stop in the eastern district of Jinja before hitting industrial area in Kampala. Guinness is the official beer of the English Premier League.
“I’m excited to discuss Guinness’s involvement in the grand kickoff of the new EPL season and how we’re bringing an unmatched football experience to our passionate fans across Uganda,” said UBL’s Head of Beer, Matilda Babuleka, in an interview in Kampala. “As the official beer of the English Premier League, Guinness is proud to bring the excitement of the world’s best sports league to our fans here in Uganda. This partnership reflects our deep understanding of football fans’ passion, which is why we’ve worked hard to ensure this season kickoff is a truly special experience.”
According to Babuleka, “This weekend, we’re staging a massive football event to officially mark the start of the 24/25 EPL season. It’s not just about watching football; it’s about creating memorable experiences. We want our fans to feel the thrill of the game as if they were right there in the stadium.”
In a first-of-its-kind activation, UBL is sending its “iconic Foreign Extra Stout across the country, starting from Jinja and making its way into Kampala for the big match day event.”
“This OOH activation is designed to build excitement and bring Guinness closer to our consumers, showing that we are with them every step of the way. Launched in November last year, Guinness Match day is all about celebrating football fandom. We’re bringing together the most passionate fans for an unparalleled live viewing experience that amplifies the love for the beautiful game. Whether you’re watching at home, at your local, or at one of our match day events, Guinness is there to enhance every moment. Guinness is brewed for excellence, and this is mirrored in our partnership with the Premier League. Just as the EPL sets the standard for football, Guinness sets the standard for beer. We care deeply about the experience of football fans in Uganda, and we’re committed to celebrating and elevating that passion through every sip of our beer. Guinness listens to the fans and celebrates their passion. We understand what it means to be a football fan in Uganda, and we believe our fans deserve nothing but the best. That’s why we’re bringing the EPL excitement directly to them with these unique activations,” added Babuleka. She appealed for support from football fans. “As we gear up for the new EPL season, we invite everyone to join us at our match day events, enjoy the game with your squad, and of course, have a Guinness in hand. Whether you’re at home, at your local, or with us at the event, Guinness is the official beer of the EPL and your perfect match day companion.”
